POPI Act for Business Analysts training success

As the full impact of the POPI Act in South approaches and the full force of the European Union General Data Protection Regulation around the world will be felt from May 2018, leading organisations are already working towards preparing themselves and their clients for both the POPI Act and GPR. "In partnership with IACT-Africa and supported by Tharollo Consulting, a member of the EOH Group, I was able to meet the needs for a training session which would not just talk about what the POPI Act is, but rather what steps to take prepare for the Act" says Dr Peter Tobin, founder of PTC. "Concepts such as Privacy By Design and Default and Privacy Impact Assessments whilst not being explicit in the POPI Act are clearly required under the GDPR, and it makes sense to at least consider international practices and to apply them where appropriate in South Africa" says Dr Tobin.
