When members of the Stationery, Home and Office Products industry association (Shop-SA) in Gauteng gathered recently it was to focus on the issue of POPI Act compliance. The related issue of ID theft and fraud was covered in a presentation by Doug Flint from Southern African Fraud Prevention Service (SAFPS). Carol McLoughlin, Executive Director at SAFPS says "There's no doubt that the advent of the POPI Act has raised awareness of the importance of all aspects of Identity Theft and Fraud Prevention".
