POPI Act compliance and Secretaries Symposium

Through the partnership PTC has with IACT-Africa and Rexel Office Products, Dr Peter Tobin, founder of PTC, was invited to present a paper on POPI Act compliance to a group of Personal Assistants and Secretaries at a Symposium convened by ASM Communication & Training Solutions . "POPI compliance has really started to hit the headlines over the last few months" says Dr Tobin, "so the timing of this event was perfect in terms of addressing the critically important area of data privacy". Also presenting at the Symposium was Annamarie van der Merwe, Director at iThemba Legal and Compliance , whose insights into the broader issues of legal compliance and good governance provided a solid introduction and update on the issues faced by the audience and their executive teams. "IACT-Africa and PTC have worked with Karus Prinsloo from iThemba Legal and Compliance  several times already on POPI-related issues, and our close association was by happy co-incidence leveraged by ASM to have Annamrie and myself on the same agenda" adds Dr Tobin.
