A PATHWAY FULL OF WORK AND EXPERIENCE
EDUCATION
In 2001, I received a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science and International Relations from the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities at the Universidade Nova de Lisboa.
In 2015, I earned a Master's Degree in Political Science and International Relations (with a specialization in political science) at the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities at the Universidade Nova de Lisboa.
In 2021, I received a Doctoral Degree in Political Science (with a specialization in Institutions and Political processes) from the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities at the Universidade Nova de Lisboa.
ADDITIONAL TRAINING (MOST RELEVANT)
In 2003, I completed a 150-hour Entrepreneurship and Innovation Course (Lispolis-Inovação Project).
In 2005, I received a postgraduate degree in Science, Technology, and Innovation Policies from the Instituto Superior Técnico in Lisbon.
In October 2006, I attended a Change Management Course at INETI for 32 hours.
Between October and November 2006, I participated in the "Network of Support Agents in e-Business for SMEs" project, which was funded by the "Grant Program 2005 - Action 20" and implemented by IAPMEI in partnership with INETI, INESC- INOV, and LINK.
Between September and November 2007, I completed the ninth session of the "Training Course for Trainers/Tutors" at INETI, a 96-hour course that awarded me Trainer Aptitude Certification.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
From January 2002 to December 2003 (on a technological and technical training grant at INETI - National Institute of Engineering, Technology and Innovation, now known as LNEG - National Laboratory for Energy and Geology):
Member of the Board of Directors staff.
From January 2004 to December 2010 (on a fixed-term contract for five years at INETI):
Advisor to the Board of Directors in the field of science, technology, and innovation public policies.
Analyst of science, technology, and innovation public policies applied to the areas of sustainability and social entrepreneurship in the Prevention and Recycling Technologies Unit of the Department of Materials and Production Technologies.
INVOLVEMENT WITH ASSOCIATIONS
From 2004 to 2007: Alternate member of the National Board of the Associação Portuguesa de Deficientes, where I was responsible for the area of the Independent Living Movement and co-responsible for the area of Accessibility.
From 2009 to 2019: Co-founder and Chairman of the Board of IPCVI — Portuguese Institute for Citizenship and Independent Living which was a knowledge and technology transfer center dedicated to the creation and diffusion of solutions that facilitate societal participation of citizens with disabilities.
