European Languages Café

September 26 The Too Fast To Sleep café will turn into a space for a multi-language exchange for students to mark the European Day of Languages.

Established in 2001 by the Council of Europe and held each year on Sept. 26, the European Day of Languages is an opportunity to celebrate language diversity and promote language studies. Several events are held on that day throughout Europe and other parts of the world. Meetings and talks, exhibitions and games are organized to enable people to appreciate Europe’s tremendous wealth of languages: there are more than 200!

A multi-languages café

From 16:00 to 18:30, Thai and foreign students will be invited to come to the Too Fast To Sleep café across from Chamchuri Square and talk with European languages native speakers. Whether they choose English, French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese or German, there will be many languages for students to converse in and the informal setting should help the most reticent to go ahead and join the discussions. A press conference to announce the creation of the EUNIC cluster in Thailand will also take place at the café with many European ambassadors taking part.
