Bravo to Douglas Carswell for not only switching parties during a parliament but also allowing the people of Clacton to ratify or reject his decision. BTW, for all the Russell Brands out there, this is a chance to raise the issues they're angry about but have done nothing about because they don't vote. I'd only stand in a seat where I lived, but others don't hold that view. Happily, the deposit is still £500.
In other news, Scotland looks depressingly likely to vote to stay in the UK. If it does, the SNP needs to tell the voters why it exists. Would it seriously ask them to vote in another referendum within the next five years?
