Uniforms
Scouts have Class A and Class B uniforms.
Class A uniforms are the official scout shirt and patches, cap, neckerchief, and belt (See below for list). Our pack does not require scouts to buy 'official' scout pants.
Class B is the yellow pack t-shirt. Class A uniform are for most meetings (including pack meetings). Class Bs are usually for outdoor activities or when scouts may get really dirty. The pack sells these at pack meetings. Cotton shirts are $10 (limited supply). Quick-dry shirts are $18.
For the class A uniform, new scouts should have:
A scout shirt (Blue for Tigers/Wolves/Bear; Tan for new Webelos. Continuing Webelos can wear their blue shirts until they are outgrown)
National Capital Area Council shoulder patch
Pack number 1509 patches (DO NOT BUY THESE: THE PACK WILL PROVIDE A 1509 PATCH TO NEW SCOUTS)
Den number patch - For 2023/2024:

Light Blue for Bears
Plaid for Webelos and Arrow of Light
Neckerchief slide for their rank
Cap for their rank

The pack has some hand-me-down shirts, neckerchiefs, slides, and caps for those who cannot afford these. We do not want any scout to not be able to participate as a result of the cost of a uniform. Please contact Pack leadership to discuss options.
Scout uniforms can be purchased at the Northern Virginia Scout Store in Springfield, at the National Capital Area Scout Shop in Bethesda, or online at www.scoutstuff.org.
Scout Handbooks
Every scout needs a scout handbook for their age and rank, available where uniforms are sold. This is for keeping track of their progress through the program.
Patch Placement
Here is a guide to placing patches on your scout's uniform as he works through the program and earns more and more awards. For those awards that are not on this guide (e.g., a patch given out for attending Pinewood Derby or for participating in the Scout Day at Nationals Park) go on a red "Brag Vest."
A brag vest can be seen HERE.
