Scouting for Food is an annual nation-wide service project of the Boy Scouts of America. Each scouting unit participates in collecting non-perishable food for area food banks. Boy Scout Troop 1509 and Cub Scout Pack 1509 have been collecting food in the Fort Hunt/Stratford Landing area for many years. As is our tradition, Troop 1509 distributes bags to area homes on the first Saturday in November and Pack 1509 picks them up on the following Saturday.

Uniforms:
Scouts should wear their pack t-shirt and cap. If it is cold, they can also wear their neckerchief on the outside of their coat to identify them as scouts. This event happens rain or shine, so please dress appropriately.
Start Place:
Meet in front of Fort Hunt Elementary for donuts and coffee.
Check-in of scouts will start at 8:30AM. There will be a sign in sheet.
We will review the maps, hand out Thank You notes, and head out for pickup
Return Place:
Return all the bags to Fort Hunt.
We will need at least 4 vehicles to make the trip to Rising Hope. IF YOU ARE ABLE TO HELP TRANSPORT FOOD TO RISING HOPE, PLEASE CONTACT PACK LEADERSHIP.
Final Destination:
Rising Hope Mission Church
We'll take an inventory of the bags as they are brought to FHES and drive them all to the Church immediately following.
