Pack 102 host 2 main fundraisers in the Fall. Popcorn and Boerne Market Days baked goods. There are a few reasons we like to fundraise and have the Scouts get out there.
It covers over 65% of the cost of scouting. With National dues increasing, Pack 102 is looking to keep cost as low as possible for every child to enjoy scouting. That is why Pack dues have remained at $36 per year for the last four years.
It helps scouts learn valuable skills such as goal setting, public speaking, persuasion skills (because that popcorn is way too expensive), overcoming objections, and handling rejection. Learning how to over come and move on from a "no" is a skill that will last our youth a lifetime.
It helps cover the cost of Bear Creek and other Council properties. We all love camping and hiking under the stars at Bear Creek. Fundraising helps pay for the upkeep and cost of the three camps that are run by Alamo Area Council.
It promotes the Pack. Seriously, what is more cute that a cub scout with a little red wagon trying to raise money to go to camp or pay for Pinewood Derby!.
