We are pleased to welcome WBUR's newest reporter, Asma Khalid (Wolfson, Cambridge) as our speaker. Many of you will have heard her on NPR/WBUR reporting from throughout our region.

Public Radio and the Changing Media Landscape
Asma graduated from Wolfson College, Cambridge with an M. Phil in
Middle East and Islamic Studies from the faculty of Oriental Studies.
In 2010, Asma traveled to Pakistan to work as an independent reporter. And, in the aftermath of Osama bin Laden’s death, she joined NPR’s Steve Inskeep to lead Morning Edition’s coverage from the region. Asma has worked as a freelancer, reporting stories for NPR’s Morning Edition and All Things Considered. She’s also reported for WUNC in Raleigh/Durham and WAMU in Washington, D.C. She came to Boston via Washington, D.C., where she was a producer for National Public Radio’s flagship show Morning Edition. Her reporting has earned her a Gracie Award and accolades from the Religion Newswriters Association, and the Society of Environmental Journalists.
