Working with Barefoot Opera, Rebecca is directing their schools' opera Red! by Lucy Mulgan:
Ten local schools joined Team Red alongside three professional singers and two musicians rehearsing and performing for their peers, parents and carers.
This is an on-going project about performance and play. Please see more on the Into the Space page.
Weekly joy on a Monday afternoon! Puppets, Props & Plots are pathways into performance for young children. We will play together, parents/carers too, to create stories through exploring props, using simple puppetry and putting together our own plots! A fun session for all.
In the beautiful setting of the Bright's Barn Theatre and Museum, discover scenes and activities to draw you into stories. Dip in an out of story land as you like, whilst picnicing in Dragon Meadow or crossing Tiger Walk... at your own peril! Just how many tigers are there? (Leave a pebble promise at the gateway to be sure that you won't be chased). Be carried by winds of the whirligig to a Wardrobe in the Woods and to a Picnic on a Cloud. Be lazy: browse and snooze in Lavender's Library. Jump Into the Play Space, navigate Memory Maze or build a den to hide from pursuers.
You might make a puppet a dragon or a mask to take through your story venture; and on your way you will meet the Story Collector who will gather your story snippets and weave them into her storytelling.
Story Collector: Rebecca Fifield

Monthly, next session Tuesday 15 October 2024
Children with their adults are transported right into the world of the story: through movement, soundscapes, object play and characterisation.
An assortment of recycled materials are offered to children and their adults and creatively used to provide a multi-sensory experience of tactile sounds and characgters, which are woven into the story.
Children are invited to join in and experience the interactive fun and magic of each story that moves from song to listening, to leaping up, to lying low, or audiences can sit back and enjoy the adventure surrounding them.
This is a relaxed performance and audiences are welcome to leave and re-enter when they wish.
For 0-5 yrs old. BOOK HERE
