Out of the Bag Theatre explores theatre making with and for children, young people and the community. We're about creative opportunities, opening up new horizons, exploring and playing! We provide the chance to learn new skills, have a go and be part of the making. And, as our name suggests, we area portable theatre, it can happen in any space, for everyone. An inclusive, welcoming approach for all. 

Watching and making performance we share physical space and time (essential in our digital online world). This live and living quality brings with it unpredictability and risk: Out of the Bag is a safe space to have a go! 

We stretch into the imagination, exploring through the combined disciplines of drama, movement, music & art. Whether participating in a weekly storytelling group, a mask workshop or watching a production, Out of the Bag mingles the ordinary with the extraordinary through play and exploration. We like finding the fun and the magic!

Out of the Bag Theatre began in Hackney, London and since 2011 has been based in Hastings and St Leonards-On-Sea, East Sussex and works across the South East.
