Documentaries

"The Flaw"- This 2010 documentary provides a breakdown of the late-2000s Financial Crisis. Although not comprehensive, it is a good introduction for those who have only a very basic knowledge of the Crisis. It is recommended that viewers follow up this documentary with "Inside Job"

"Inside Job"- Winner of the 2010 Academy Award for Best Documentary, this film examines the systemic corruption of the United States by the financial services industry and the consequences of that systemic corruption in the late-2000s Financial Crisis.

"Living on One Dollar"- This 2013 documentary shows the experiences of four college students who traveled to rural Guatemala to experience what it's like to live on one dollar a day.

"Money For Nothing: Inside the Federal Reserve"- This 2013 documentary, featuring interviews with Paul Volcker, Janet Yellen, and other prominent officials and economists, examines the history of the Federal Reserve system since its creation and up to the late-2000s Financial Crisis. It is recommended that viewers are familiar with basic Macroeconomics concepts (especially monetary policy).

"A Place at the Table"- Although not strictly about economics, this 2012 documentary examines food insecurity in America and those who rely on Federal programs for food assistance.

"Cool Cat Saves the Kids"- This has nothing to do with economics. In fact, it's not even a documentary. In fact, it's probably the most terrible excuse for a kid's movie I've ever seen. Go watch it.
