Ozark-Prairie and Mid-South Joint SETAC Meeting Announcement and Call for Abstracts
The Ozark-Prairie and Mid-South Regional Chapters of the Society of Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry are hosting a joint meeting this year from May 13-15 at the University of Central Oklahoma in Edmond, OK. The theme for 2024 is “Urbanization and Multiple Stressors on Aquatic Systems.”
This year’s program will include two keynote speakers discussing aquatic ecology and toxicology with one and a half days of presentations. Presentations will be all day on Tuesday, May 14 and the morning of Wednesday, May 15. The afternoon of Wednesday, May 15 will include an optional tour of the Oklahoma City Zoo.
Financial assistance is available for student members!
· Student travel funds may be available to help off-set costs for presenters to this meeting for Ozark-Prairie student members*
· For both chapters, there will be a Student Poster and Platform presentation competition – winners earn travel awards to attend the National SETAC NA meeting in in November 2024.
*funds may be available for student presenters traveling to this meeting. Available funds will be distributed evenly across the pool of student presenters. Student must be an Ozark-Prairie SETAC member to receive funding.
All presentation topics related to experimental or applied environmental toxicology and chemistry are encouraged, as are other related topics. The following topics are particularly desirable:
· Aquatic Toxicology topics
· Environmental justice topics
· Non-target organism testing
· New technology used in environmental testing
· Water pollution/monitoring
· Endangered species research
· Environmental chemistry/fate

May 14th: 8:00 am: Registration, presentations, and poster social
