Harris's Checkerspot (Chlosyne harrisii)

The image at bottom left illustrates the extreme variability in the extent of the orange/black markings that is sometimes seen in this species.  As far as I can tell, this is neither sexual dimorphism nor regional variation.  The individual at top right is a more or less typical individual, which falls midway between those two extremes.
