The Newbury Park High School Orchestra program is a burgeoning program that has become an integral part of the high school and within the community. Once on the verge of extinction, the program has gone from nine students to over fifty members and now offers four levels of orchestras. The String Orchestra has consistently earned Superior ratings at the Southern California Band and Orchestra Festival and received first place at the 2015 Heritage Festival in San Diego. The orchestra performed in California's very own Segerstorm Concert Hall in March 2017 as part of the prestigious Heritage Festival of Gold. The Acorn newspaper, in its most recent article, "Almost Silenced, NPHS Orchestra Experiences Rebirth." chronicles the program's historic comeback.
