While learning is a cycle repeated many times, education is a lifelong journey ... with many specific tasks ... three major legs ... and three major milestones along the way.
In this journey, Northfield is a secondary school and that means three simple but important things in educational terms.
- Our students must have sufficient receptive and expressive fitness to lift and wield the tools of learning which they will be trained to use.
- Our training in the use of the tools of learning must be rigorous, repetitive and increasingly difficult … across a wide variety of subjects … until our students reach a skill level that assures us [and them] of their ability to succeed in any future learning endeavor … something we call dialectical maturity.
- Northfield must then provide reliable gateways to new learning opportunities which our students can pursue to promote personal and professional development.
Northfield works closely with various other institutions to forge the strong links needed to support your child across this entire educational journey. We understand that even though our leg of that journey is vital, it begins at a milestone reached through the efforts of those who preceded us and it only ends when we have brought our students safely and confidently to the milestone from which the opportunities that follow after us will embark … no gaps and no overlaps … a seamless education.
