One of the best ways to learn about Natural Language Processing (NLP) is to research a topic that interests you. This site is to let you choose a topic, research that topic, present it to your class, and when you have completed the presentation, to let anyone see your work.
You will choose one NLP topic, and research it thoroughly. The pages that follow are to help you select a topic. You could start by looking at the Sources link to read the AAAI web page and links for example.
If you work in a team, the team will need to split the work amongst team members effectively. You will need to appoint a team leader. You will need to carry out the research, and then, as a group you will submit a PowerPoint presentation to me (inmandw@lsbu.ac.uk) by the date shown on the left.
Your presentation, including questions from the audience, should last about 30 minutes, and should involve all group members normally. The allocation of work amongst team members, and the team co-ordination is one of the important parts of this coursework.
You will also need to individually summarise the other research studies after you hear the presentation. See below for an attachment that lets you make a one page summary of each presentation. These will be compiled into an individual coursework from you. You will get a group mark for the group work on your research study, and an individual mark for your summary of each research study presentation by the other groups.
You will also be able to vote for the best presentations. The coursework details can be seen here.
