There is enormous variability in technological resources and web access/blocking across schools. Graphics intensive, high bandwidth or social network-based games are thus ruled out. A game that can be delivered via the web and created using technologies such as HTML, XML or JavaScript would allow good integration with DfS itself, would be low cost, and enabling hosting on a trust domain and/or integration into existing digital schools platforms, particularly, in Scotland, Glow (Learning and Teaching Scotland 2010).
Additionally DfS workshop feedback (Sutton 2010) suggests that teaching staff will mainly be interested in sharing experiences within institutions so this should be specifically addressed in the access restrictions enabled within the sharing and discussion areas of the game.
