Waiteville, WV Foray, Sunday August 18th --RSVP needed

Post date: Aug 5, 2013 2:12:38 AM

NRV Mushroom Club Foray Sunday, August 18th at 10:00AM in Waiteville, WV (near Giles County)

We have done the Waiteville Foray for four years and each year over a dozen of us have walked, collected, and then gotten together with the books and identified several dozen different species of mushrooms each time, including many both photogenic and edible, at this wonderful location. This has been a very successful annual foray for our club!

· We will meet at Elke's house and decide how to drive/ride/park to the foray site(s) nearby.

· As always, please RSVP by Sunday August 11th so we can plan, know who to wait on, know who to look for if they miss the turn (which we learned in 2010, is easy to do!)

· I will wait for a final count before setting up the carpool. Last year we had a potluck lunch at Elke and Nick's house and if you all would like to do that again, let me know what you can bring.

· If I don't already have your cell phone number, do let me know it as well as a home number or contact person in case of emergency

· Bring field guides, bug spray, poncho in case of light rain (we will cancel if a major storm is called for), baskets, collecting bags, and/or tackle boxes (craft boxes) for small specimens, pocket knife, hand lenses, cameras
