The New River Valley Mushroom Club will be having our annual foray in conjunction with the Mycological Association of Washington August 8-10 2014 in Front Royal VA
Guest Mycologist: Jay Justice – Founder & Scientific Advisor - Arkansas Mycological
Society, Cumberland Mycological Society; Chief Mycologist – Missouri Mycological Society; NAMA Past Vice President; 2011 Recipient of NAMA Contributions to Amateur Mycology Award; 32 years experience with special interests in the genera Amanita, Cordyceps and the Boletes. Presentation - “Not your Grannie’s Chanties,” a look at the current taxonomic concept of members of Craterellus and Cantharellus in North America.
Location: The NoVa 4-H Educational & Conference Center is about 15 minutes from Front Royal, adjacent to the Appalachian Trail and Shenandoah National Park and is known as one of the best 4-H Centers in the U.S. (www.nova4h.com)
Registration fee/person (including lodging and meals): $104 - camping, $169 - 3 or 4 per room, $204 - double, $299 - single. Prices include 5 meals (Sat breakfast – Sun lunch), two nights lodging, facility fee and linens. These include all activities, walks, and talks associated with the event, including the opportunity to learn with our guest mycologist Jay Justice.
