Don’t mess online with the New Friends of York ladies! A local police officer will talk about scams, how to avoid them, and what to do if caught in one during the group’s Feb. 16 monthly meeting. The meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m. at the LINK Community Center Spry Church, 65 School St., York, PA.
A collection of the following items will be taken at this meeting for the church’s Love Your Neighbor project: bar soap, body wash, liquid hand soap, shampoo, conditioner, feminine hygiene products, tissues, toilet paper, diapers, deodorant, toothbrush/toothpaste, shave cream, razors, kitchen trash bags, dish soap, dish sponges, laundry detergent (small bottle). The church is very grateful for this support.

Masks are optional. If you are not feeling well or have been in contact recently with someone diagnosed with COVID, we ask that you not attend the meeting.
Through the year, New Friends members typically participate monthly in a variety of interests including: bunco, book club, canasta, walking group, community service, movie night, craft night, dinner club, 500-bid, ladies' luncheon, Social Saturday, Mah Jongg, and more. The monthly group meetings are held on the third Thursday. Prospective members are welcome to attend three events before committing to membership in the group.
The organization introduces women residents of the York, PA community to each other and offers them an opportunity for companionship and friendship through social events and interest group activities. The group is non-profit, non-commercial, non-political and non-discriminatory. The social group is open to any area woman who is looking for friendships in York County. The yearly membership fee is $25.
