Summer Lovin'

Adam is taking a T-ball class which he has a lot of fun with...

Adam's 5th Birthday Party 06-06-09

Adam wanted to have a "weapons" party, but unfortunately for him that was immediately nixed by his mom. So, then he decided a cowboy birthday was the next best thing. He didn't want to wear the paper bag vests we made (a little uncomfortable) but instead wore his cape since he was "Captain of the cowboys".

Ryan had to do whatever the big boys and girls were doing- and was so proud to be a big cowboy too.

We decorated cowpoke vests, did cow lassoing, sharp-shooting, and horse races. Then the kids decorated their own cupcakes to eat and Adam opened his presents. He had a great time and loved all the attention. I think his friends had a great time too- they seemed to like the games and all got some cowpoke gear to take home.

But he has a little problem paying attention (remember the movie Uncle Buck where the principal calls his niece a "dreamer", etc. - that's Adam)

Swimming Hole 06-10-09

Adam has a swimming class everyday and usually after class we go outside to the wading pool and the kids swim, eat lunch, and swim some more. Unfortunately the wading pool was closed for a few days starting the day I was babysitting a little girl who I told would go swimming. So off to Brookside Park and their little water hole for kids. They had a blast even though the water was freezing and it wasn't that warm out. All the old people had a great time watching the kids shriek and splash and have fun.

Notice all the kids lined up paying attention to the coach. And then Adam- last in line looking the completely opposite direction doing who knows what. That's my boy!

Ryan is also taking a summer class- gymnastics. He LOVES it. I have yet to capture the moment since it is all I can do to keep up with him during class! It really wears me out.

You're Gonna Love It At Adventureland! 06-13-09

Neal got tickets to Adventureland from his work again this year, so we went on Saturday. It was a blast!! We had fun on the rides (well, Neal and I had fun on the 2 rides we went on), played in Kokomo Kove, watched a circus (Adam was sooo amazed), and played a game for a prize. We went on the river raft at the very end and got completely soaked (Adam declared he HATED this ride) and had to stop by Wal-Mart before we went to Red Robins for dinner. We were completely exhausted by the time we got home and all went to bed content.
