Who are the most sustainable cities ?
The Sustainable Cities Index (SCI) was first published by global consulting company Arcadis in 2015.
In the second edition, the world's major cities are again rated on the basis of various indicators, such as affordability, income inequality, education, health and work-life-balance (adding up to the first of three dimensions of sustainability, "People"), as well as environmental protection, drinking water, energy, green space and emissions ("Planet"), and economic activity, transport infrastructure, connectivity and tourism ("Profit"). The three dimensions combine to provide a comprehensive impression of the leading cities worldwide in terms of vitality and sustainability.
