Different than the semi-gloss above, the specimen below is not really glossy like some older Stablemates are, but has more of a plastic-like shine to it, just like my black B-stamped Morgan Stallion. It could have something to do with this alternative plastic used for B-stamped ones, although finish also varies among B-stamps.

I have found these typically teary glossed eyes (as in the Sears 1989 set) on Stablemates dating from 1988-1991, so this should be one from about that period too.

Althouth this unique colour wasn't officially in the singles series, there have been a few found sealed on a white singles card.
This one is certain to come from the Sears 1989 set, since I took him out of the box personally.

This Swaps oddity has the exact finish of a JCP 1994 Citation, glossy eyes included.
I bought it in a big mixed lot, so it's origin is unknown to me, but my guess is it came with a 1994 JCP set as a little error, or maybe they just ran out of Citations some day.
