In order to import a Microsoft Word document into your Google Drive, there are a few steps you must follow.
First, open your Google Docs homepage and click "New". A drop-down menu should appear, and you must click the "File Upload" option. This should open a new tab with all of your computer's documents. Select the Microsoft Word document you wish to import and click "open". After the file has been uploaded into your Google Docs homepage, double-click the file to open it in a preview. In the top right corner, select "open with", and once the drop-down menu appears, click "Google Docs". This should create a duplicate file which you can edit with Google Docs, finishing the imported file.
