Sean Farrell

Sean Farrell received his early musical education as a chorister scholar at Ampleforth. He went on to study at the University of York and Royal Academy of Music, then with Naji Hakim at La Trinite in Paris. Having held organ scholarships at York Minster and St Albans Cathedral, Sean went on to be Assistant Organist at, successively, the Cathedrals of Wakefield, Ely and Rochester. He was director of two Cathedral Girls Choirs during this time.In 2001 Sean joined the staff of Trinity College of Music, where he has been Director of Music of the Old Royal Naval College chapel since, forming one of London's most respected church choirs. He has also held the post of Head of Organ Studies, Head of Performance and, most recently, Head of Early Music at Trinity - reflecting his research subject at the University of York, which is in 18th Century Keyboard practice.In September 2010 Sean moves to Wellington College as Organist, where he will combine his chapel music position with his love for teaching. He continues as Director of Greenwich Baroque - a professional period instrument ensemble - and Ex Trinitas Vocal Ensemble, as well as being in regular demand as a choral director and recording producer.

Sean played for MDS between 1992-1996 and in 1998.
