20130625 Meeting on Site to Discuss CGS

As it can be remembered The Friends of Surrey Square Park won a surprise bid with Cleener, Greener, Safer award to improve the WildLife Area.

As part and parcel of the project we manage to have a meet up with the Southwark Ecological Officer, the insuppressible Jon Best, plus Chandra, from the Park Management and of course the appointed project manager for the CGS, Nils.

It was a much needed meeting as the opinion of Jon best were particularly requested together with Chandra opinion on the feasibility of it all.

Few of us (plus the Wildman of Kinglake on leash !) where at hand to explain what we hoped could be achieved.

It all went well and we enjoy just speculating about all the wild spin-off of the projects!!

The recent damage to the WLA was still all but evident and I hoped it focused everybody minds on the challenge ahead. The project we want to build has to be one that has some chance of enduring because we live our little park and hope that it will remains and provide so much needed relief to future urban generation of city dwelling.Especially in view of the difficult times ahead.

The WildLife Area is however such a verdant and precious feature of our little oasis that all our efforts seems worthwhile ;-)

This fortunately was unspoken in the mind of everybody (and even the Wildman was unusually quiet!).
