Planning a Vacation
Objective: You are to plan a standard family package vacation. You have budgeted $2,000 for the entire family to take a vacation. A minimum vacation stay is 3 days and 2 nights. Your standard family consists of 2 adults and 2 children (ages 8, 10). Located at the bottom of this page is a Family Vacation Guide that will help you keep yourself organized.
You must attend at least one attraction, show, exhibit every day.
You cannot stay in your hotel room all day.
You can only use the beach/pool once for your attractions the entire trip. You may spend time at the beach/pool throughout the entire trip.
Assume your vehicle only get 20 mpg. The price of gas is $2.25.
You will be eating three meals per day (breakfast, lunch, supper). Breakfast may be at the hotel if they serve it.
Everything you do must include your two kids (i.e. kid-friendly, family activities).
You must eat out at a nicer restaurant at least once each day.
Once you eat at a restaurant/fast food you cannot eat there again the rest of the trip. (Can’t eat at McDonald’s more than once for the entire trip.) The hotel’s breakfast does not have to follow this rule.
You are spending your hard earned money on this trip to explore and take-in the scenery and attractions, therefore you will eat breakfast by 8:00 am and will be in bed by 10:00 pm or later.
In your submitted materials you must include all travel details, including transportation arrangements both to and from the destination and while you are there, hotel accommodations, food, activities/tours, souvenirs, tips, taxi’s, emergencies, etc.
