Career Living Wax Museum

You are assignment is to research a career or field of study and create a characterization of this career. 

• 1. Research/Read about your career or field of study. Below are some topics that you should research but are not limited to: 

     • Specifics of the career

     • A day in the life of..

     • Facts about your career

     • Steps to reach your career goal

     • Attire

     • Tools/Technology used on the job 

     • Work Environment/ Location 

     • Salary

  2. Poster/Backdrop to be displaced containing the following information. This is to be neat, colorful, and creative. It needs to be large enough so it can be easily read. 

     • Career

     • Pictures

     • Summary of the topics listed above

  3. Dress for Success (pose): This is where you will dress like your career.  It is also your position in the wax museum. It should represent your career, should be comfortable to you, and can include props you deem necessary, as long as they are realistic and school appropriate.  You are required to bring everything you need for your setting and pose. 

  4. - Everyone's Showtime:  morning of Tuesday, May 8

  5. Monologue - This is something that is spoken by you. You must attempt to sound like the career that you are demonstrating. You will need to have movement (be doing something) as you speak. It should be relevant to this career. The monologue will be something that you create. It must be relevant and appropriate and represent your career well. You will turn in a written copy into me for a grade. This MUST be memorized.

Timeline for the day of presentations: 

8:45     Release from class to change and finalize setup. The bulk of your area should be setup in the gym prior to school starting.

9:00     PreK travels through the museum

9:15      4th Grade 

9:30      5th Grade

9:45      2nd Grade

10:00    3rd Grade

10:15      1st Grade

10:30     Kindergarten

* If there is time, we will find the 6th graders.
