Presentation & Google Slides – Due Thursday, December 6, 2018 by 8am
- Presentation - you will give a 3-4 minute presentation on your mathematician to the class while using your Google slide show
- Google Slide Show - you will create a short Google Slide presentation of only 2 to 5 slides of important information about your mathematician to refer to during your presentation and serve as a visual aide
- Notes & Quizzes - You are expected to take notes while other students present – there will be a quiz after each day of presentations on which you may use your notes.
Content of presentation and slide show:
- Address the following about the mathematician: full name, nationality, dates he/she was alive, other important dates in his/her history, religious background, schooling, family, occupations, funny or interesting facts about the mathematician, important discoveries, books written, mathematical concepts studied, developed, or advanced, controversies, and the mathematician’s impact on or contributions to the mathematical/scientific community or world (Correct grammar and spelling is important in your slide show.)
- Your Google Slide must also include at least one quote stated by the mathematician or by someone else specifically about the mathematician, and picture of the mathematician and/or mathematical pictures or symbols attributed to the mathematician.
- Approximately 30-40% of your presentation and slide show should be biographical information (where the mathematician is from, went to school, religious background, etc.)
- Approximately 60-70% of your presentation and slide show should be about the mathematical contributions of your mathematician
- The slide show must be turned in through Google Classroom by 8am by Thursday, December 6th
- Plan ahead…late slide shows will not be accepted for any reason.
