Introduction

What does the word "order" have to do with mathematics?

Over the next two days you and your partner/group will complete this Webquest on the Order of Operation.

Why is order in math important?

Math is like baking cookies, you have to take certain steps before you can put them it in the oven or you will not get cookies, you will get a mess. For example, you must mix the ingredients before placing the dough on the cookie sheet. Math is the same way. If you do not follow operational steps you will not get the correct answer.

GOAL: The goal of this WebQuest is for students to acquire an understanding and interest for the order of operations through on-line lessons, tutorials, puzzles, and games.
