You are about to take a journey through the land of figurative language. The following tasks are to be completed by you. Make sure you pay close attention and write down any information needed to turn into your teacher. Once you have complete a task, come back to this menu and click the next link. The final task will be to "Share." Good Luck!

1. Go to the link http://library.thinkquest.org/J0112392/ on this page go to the Simile link and write down the definition for Simile. Continue and click the link for metaphor, alliteration, personification, repetition, and onomatopoeia and write down the definition for each in your guidebook. Be sure to include an example to go with each type of figurative language.

2. Go to the link http://www.brainpop.com/english/writing/similesandmetaphors/preview.weml and watch the video on similes and metaphors.

3. Go to the link http://www.worsleyschool.net/socialarts/simile/page2.html and take the simile quiz.

4. Go to the link http://www.funbrain.com/idioms/ and take the idioms quiz.

5. Go to the link http://www.kidsonthenet.org.uk/dragonsville/metaphor1.htm and complete the drop and drag metaphors. Write down the score you receive.

6. Share your finished guidebook with your teacher.
