Rhythms

There are many rhythm reading sites that can help you. Find one that fits your learning style form the ones below. Remember, you can adjust the speed of playback via the gear icon when in yootoob. Also, pause the video and learn the rhythm first, then go for it.

A sequential one is HERE.       This One shows a rhythm, you analyze it, then play it, then play with it.       Here, I suggest pausing the playback, analyze the rhythm, then play along.

This one explains 16th notes quite well.      And this site combines 8ths and 16ths in an effective way.               If you find a rhythm site that's effective, let me know and we'll share it with others.

Melodies

These are high school level music reading exercises to help you. They start easy and become more complicated. Review the Sight Reading Procedure above to ensure success.

I think (in fact I know) that the best sight reading books are the "Music for Sight Singing" by Robert Ottman. Keep your eyes out for them as there are 8 editions - each one is full of songs, super easy to very complex. I have found them for only a few dollars at St. Vincent de Paul, so keep your eyes (and ears) out. CLICK HERE for some examples of his books on youtoob. Hit pause, analyse, play the tune, then play along with it to see how you did. Very good practice! Sadly, no click track to start you off, but, w'evah.
