Bell Ringer: What is all matter made of?
Finish Wire Lab (due 1/7/11)
Graphing help:
1. Label axes and include units
2. Decide on a scale for each axis (make sure the largest value in each axis will fit on your graph)
3. Plot points on graph using data table.
Atom - the smallest unit of an element that still behaves like that element
made of protons, neutrons, and electrons
protons and neutrons at the center, make up the nucleus
electrons orbit around the nucleus
Periodic Table
Atomic number is number of protons
Atomic mass is protons + neutrons
Same number of electrons as protons
Draw the atoms of Hydrogen, Helium, Fluorine, Sodium, and Iron. Color code the protons, neutrons, and electrons and include a key. Due Friday, 1/7/11.
