DEA Email Intervention- Do You or Someone You Know Have an Email Problem?
Prerequisites:
Basic computer skills. DPS email account (user name and password established).
Welcome and Introduction:
The instructor will solicit questions either by survey or making a general list.
1. Opening Activity: (Engaging the learner)
a. Please email me a brief 1-2 sentence introduction about you and, in the subject line, provide your name and the word introduction. (EX.// Patrick Aubin introduction)
· Hint: My name is Patrick Aubin, can you figure out my DPS email address?
· CC yourself that introduction

a. I will send the class an email via my distribution list and you'll have to reply to JUST me (PATRICK_AUBIN@dpsk12.org). DO NOT REPLY ALL!!!
Hands On Experience/ Develop Project:
To demonstrate learning, the learner will have to create a distribution list using all the learners in the class, send the distribution list an attachment from a created subfolder named "DEA Training" . They will then search for a keyword in their mailbox to search for the downloaded file, forward it to THREE recipients from the distribution (one as the primary, one as the "CC" and another as a "BCC (this one being the instructor)" list using a different name for the email.
7. Create a class distribution list, or click here if you're using Entourage.
8. Create a subfolder labeled DEA training by right clicking on the inbox.
9. Drag and drop your CC'd introductory email into the DEA training subfolder
10. Search for the email that you CC'd yourself using the search toolbar option
11. Create a word file by cutting and pasting the introductory emailed to me (remember you CC'd yourself!!) into a word document.
12. Attach the word file to a new email
13. Send this email to THREE recipients from the distribution list titling it something colorful (be creative and make this fun :)
a. One primary (Choose someone)
b. One CC (Choose someone)
c. One BCC (Instructor)
Reflection/Sharing of Learning:
Read the information on parental responsibilty here and comment in an email and send it to the person on the list alphabetically "superior" to you.
