2/5/2012 Planting on quarry slope. Many guards. Poor survival
Jan 2015 looking north.
Left slope was old shire quarry, right slope was Eldridge quarry.
Shrire is now filling the hole with waste soil and levelling it.
The is an invasion of Phalaris in this area.
There is an argument in leaving some exposed quarry face to study the profile.
Trees are the 2010 planting.
aug 2017 Look north. Lots of phalaris.

The Eldridge quarry face has been partly renovated by Eldridge.
Trees were planted in 1989 to protect the face from the wind.
Pine and cyprus were the main survivors of the mix planted.
Below these are a poor survival 2011 planting.
The left end has a kestrel nest which has been used for 25 years.
