PROGRESS REPORT No 7 - January 2011.

Happy New Year to everyone as 2011 is now upon us. Only four months to go before the “ALL MORGANS’ DAY” at Waddesdon Manor on Sunday May 15th 2011.

Your Organising Group makes very good progress, with various ideas slotting into place.

Ledgerwood Morgan will sponsor a Goody Bag and Linda and Sonya are putting the contents together. We have our Parking arrangements in the safe hands of Peter and Philip, and Steve will organise the R 100 banner. With a Rally Plaque courtesy of Gott and Wynne the day promises to be a memorable inaugural event at what is a world class venue.

For those who wish to stay over at the Waddesdon Five Arrows Hotel (01296 651727), as of this morning there are three rooms remaining – one single and two doubles for the evenings of May 14th and May 15th. The Saturday will allow for our final preparations ie making up the Goody Bags, with a buffet supper to accommodate various arrival times and to allow everyone to circulate. All very informal and friendly, and those staying at the hotel for the first time will be very happy with everything we hope.

The grand estate that is Waddesdon Manor is able to accommodate as many cars as wish to participate. ALL Morgan cars will need an EXHIBITOR PASS for display in the windscreen and these are now available from David Harris – “Mallards”, Balcarras Retreat, Charlton Kings, Cheltenham GL53 8QU. Would EVERYONE please e-mail write or call 01242 256945, and we shall despatch if you would please include a postal address.

On the day you will exchange your EXHIBITOR PASS for a Goody Bag on the basis of one Bag per car.

Publicity includes the MSCC diary of events and 2011 calendar http://www.mscc.uk.com/whatson.html,

and we hope that Miscellany will feature each month through to the May edition.

We appear on the Help For Heroes website http://www.heronet.org.uk/event.php?event_id=1653

and in the Classic and Sports Car magazine, calendar and also on the Classic Shows website http://www.classicshowsuk.co.uk/carshoweventsinformation/

Of course we have no idea at this stage how many will attend, but we anticipate and are planning for hundreds of cars.

Philip has communicated with all UK Centres and Frank with overseas groups. We hope to attract three wheelers as well as traditional Morgan’s and wonder if Morgan Super Cars might appear although means of communication with them is unknown? Please welcome all Morgan cars to join us, indeed all car enthusiasts whatever their marque as Waddesdon as usual will be open to the general public.

So far as R 100’s are concerned we located Brian Salmon in Essex recently meaning we are now in touch with 43 of the 60 cars manufactured.

If you are a UK car and have not yet joined “The Tenner Club”, please send a £10 note to David to cover our postage costs and other incidentals which will amount to a tidy sum by May 15th. As previously advised, any surplus will go to the H4H fund.
