Weather

Romania is characterized by the four typical seasons: winter, spring, summer and autumn, that are generally split as follows: December to end February - winter; March to end May - spring; June to end August - summer; September to end November - autumn.

Romanian winters can be quite strong, snow covers much of the country and temperatures lower until minus fifteen to twenty degrees.

Weather conditions improve with spring, though. By May, the lowlands are warming up and there is strong sunshine. The hottest time of the year, summer and early autumn, make also the best time to visit the country.
