Dr. Rhonda Taylor
The focus of this course was upon institutional analysis, planning and evaluation. Through readings, discussion and assignments, we learned about the internal and external factors affecting academic libraries and administration of them. Through completion of this course I gained a better understanding of library operations, application of management theories, and knowledge of library advocacy. This class also taught me about the libraries role in the academic institution.

Assignment
This class was designed to develop us as students in three areas: research, teaching and service. To focus these efforts we chose a topic at the beginning of the semester to guide all of our individual efforts. I selected support for distance education which are the subject of the leadership assignment, current issues paper and professional research agenda assignment. To complete the leadership assignment I designed a wiki to organize my information, presentation and provide a resource base. I had intended students to make contributions to the wiki and did so on another site. The site I present here includes only resources I contributed for presentation sake. Please find materials on the subpage for my discussion leadership assignment.
