Assignment
For this class I completed a case study, discussing a virtual reference project I had worked on while an employee of the Learning Resources Center at Tulsa Community College. Here is a brief description I wrote at the start of the project::
"I am participating with the Kim Monday Project in order to gain real life experience with virtual reference services as well as applications of social media in an academic library. I am eager to expand my knowledge of virtual reference services and improve usage by students, faculty, and staff. The Kim Monday project has given me an opportunity to explore emerging technologies and application in a real world environment. I am eager to continue evaluating the success of this project and contribute to the continual improvement of virtual reference services as well as use of 2.0 technologies in the library.
The goal of writing a case study is to gain experience with academic writing as well as promote achievements made by the TCC Learning Resources Center. Working with well established academics in the field will expand my understanding of the publishing world and provide a valuable experience. "
