Student Reflection & Course Assignment

 Myth is an interdisciplinary subject and touches and impinges on the human being in both a subtle and marvelous ways.  Myth is an aspect of the human experience that informs a large portion of our behavioral response and creative output.  The complex delivery of the story based way of life that aligns both the society and individual in optimal encounter with an agreed upon world view. In this essay I explore Joseph Campbell’s conception of Aesthetics which are heavily influenced by the Irish novelist James Joyce who in turn is interpreting the aesthetic philosophy of Aquinas.  The outcome is that both myth and   art can be analyzed by Aquinas’s three fold aesthetic system.
