Chopin- Frédéric (1810-1849)

Frédéric François Chopin (né sous le nom polonais : Fryderyk Franciszek Chopin2, parfois polonisé Szopen3 ; au xixe siècle, la graphie Szopę a été utilisée en Pologne en concurrence avec la graphie Chopin4) est un compositeur et pianiste virtuose d'ascendance franco-polonaise, né en 1810 à Żelazowa Wola, sur le territoire du duché de Varsovie (actuellement enPologne), et mort en 1849 à Paris5.

Issu du côté de son père d'une famille lorraine originaire de Marainville-sur-Madon, après sa formation au Conservatoire de Varsovie et un début de carrière en Pologne et à Vienne, il choisit d'émigrer en France où il développe son inspiration dans l'effervescence du monde pianistique parisien et dans le souvenir de sa patrie meurtrie. Il y rencontre George Sand, qui sera sa compagne pendant neuf ans.

Reconnu comme l'un des plus grands compositeurs de musique de la période romantique, Frédéric Chopin est aussi l'un des plus célèbres pianistes du xixe siècle. Sa musique est encore aujourd'hui l'une des plus jouées et demeure un passage indispensable à la compréhension du répertoire pianistique universel. Avec Franz Liszt, il est le père de la technique moderne de son instrument et influence toute une lignée de compositeurs tels que Gabriel Fauré, Claude Debussy, Maurice Ravel, Alexandre Scriabine, Sergueï Rachmaninov, ou Olivier Messiaen.

Frédéric François Chopin (born under the Polish name: Fryderyk Franciszek Chopin2, sometimes Polish Szopen3; in the 19th century, the Szopę script was used in Poland in competition with the Chopin4 script) is a composer and virtuoso pianist of Franco-Polish descent, born in 1810 in Żelazowa Wola, on the territory of the Duchy of Warsaw (currently in Poland), and died in 1849 in Paris5.

Coming from his father's side of a Lorraine family from Marainville-sur-Madon, after his training at the Warsaw Conservatory and a start of his career in Poland and Vienna, he chose to emigrate to France where he developed his inspiration in the effervescence of the Parisian piano world and in the memory of his battered homeland. There he meets George Sand, who will be his companion for nine years.

Recognized as one of the greatest composers of music of the Romantic period, Frédéric Chopin is also one of the most famous pianists of the 19th century. His music is still today one of the most played and remains an essential passage to the understanding of the universal pianistic repertoire.
