Paganini-Nicolo (1782-1840)

Il reçoit ses premiers cours de violon et de mandoline de son père, Antonio Paganini, un docker et musicien amateur. Il prend par la suite des leçons de violon à Gênes, avec Giovanni Cervetto, un violoniste professionnel, et Giacomo Costa, le directeur de l'orchestre du Théâtre.

À partir des années 1794, il se produit dans les églises locales et les salons privés. Il est remarqué par le marquis Giancarlo Dinegro, dont il reçoit les encouragements. Il compose à cette époque Carmagnola, un cahier de 14 variations pour violon et guitare, sur la « Caramagnole », chant révolutionnaire français......
