Key Largo 2010 Visitors Guide

My nephew is an expert diver in Florida and I asked him to suggest some novice to beginner dive sites. Here is what he said:

After asking around I found two good snorkeling options in Largo.

The first is a charter with Quiescence Diving Services. The charter is a half day of snorkeling at two different reefs. They charge $49 per person. There web site for the charter is http://www.keylargodiving.com/charters.html.

The second recommendation is John Pennekamp state park. The park offers half day snorkeling trips for $29.95 per adult and $24.95 per youth. They also rent mask, fins, and snorkels for $9 per set. The park also has glass bottom boat trips as well as canoeing and kayaking rentals. There web site is http://www.pennekamppark.com/snorkeling.html.

Both Snorkeling options offer shallow water reefs to explore. The reefs are typically 10-15 feet deep but due to the excellent water clarity you can easily see everything without ever diving under water.
