Violin section - Fees and Conditions

1. Single lessons fees

The prices and conditions of individual lessons are set by the single lessons teacher and are to be paid according to his or her instructions.

2. Group lessons and concerts - Suzuki Music Brussels fees (2025-2026)

Each SMB violin pupil must pay, besides the single lessons, two Suzuki Music Brussels fees: the 48€/year Basic Fee, which covers mainly administrative and rental costs, and the 314€/year Violin Fee, which covers 30 group lessons per year as well as concerts, evaluations and other collective violin costs. The SMB fees do not cover the cost of single lessons. SMB fees are paid by bank card online, through the inscription form.

A reduction in the SMB fees is possible in some cases:

Parents may opt for the recommended full-groups package (30 group lessons, 314€/year) or, if regular attendance of group lessons is difficult, for the reduced-groups package (20 group lessons, 251€) or for the minimum-groups package (10 group lessons, 196€)

The reduced-groups and minimum-groups options are designed for parents who, for professional and/or family reasons, are unable to let their child attend all or most group lessons. We do not encourage taking one of these options, as children will only fully benefit from their Suzuki violin lessons if they attend all or most groups. Please consider, before choosing this option, the possibility of replacing, at the group lessons, the parent who usually attends single lessons with another adult, for example, the other parent; another family member or friend; the nanny; or another parent in the same group. NB Participation in the group concerts in December and June is conditional on a minimum 30% presence rate at the group lessons.

Parents of pupils who have reached Book 5 of the Suzuki Violin Method may opt either for the No Groups Basic package (132€) or for No Groups with extra solos (312€) which adds, at a discounted price, four extra solo rehearsals with the piano accompanist.
Pupils who are aged 13 or more may also opt for No Groups Basic, regardless of level.
Pupils who are to begin lessons later than 1 January pay a proportionately reduced fee.

3. Inscription and payment of SMB fees

The starting date for lessons is usually at the beginning of one of the five school terms in the school calendar of the Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles (FWB). It is possible for a pupil to begin group lessons durinf a term but, in that case, payment of the fees for the full term is still due.

4. Cancellation of SMB Violin Inscription

In no case will the basic fee be reimbursed.
90% of the violin fee only (exclusive of the basic fee) will be reimbursed in case of cancellation of the inscription, provided the cancellation is communicated to alexis.oberreit@suzuki-music-brussels.be before the first group lesson.
50% of the violin fee only (exclusive of the basic fee) will be reimbursed in case of cancellation of the inscription, provided the cancellation is communicated to alexis.oberreit@suzuki-music-brussels.be within one month of the initial inscription. Later cancellations will not be reimbursed.
