Violin section - Prices and Conditions

1. Single lessons fees

The prices and conditions of individual lessons are set by the single lessons teacher and are to be paid according to his or her instructions.

2. Group lessons and concerts - Suzuki Music Brussels fees (2023-2024)

Each SMB violin pupil must pay, besides the single lessons, two Suzuki Music Brussels fees: the 44€/year Basic Fee, which covers mainly administrative and rental costs, and the 300€/year Violin Fee, which covers mainly the cost of group lessons, but also those of concerts and evaluations. The SMB fees do not cover the cost of single lessons. SMB fees are paid by bank card online, through the inscription form.

A reduction in the SMB fees is possible in some cases:

  • The reduced-groups option is designed for parents who, for professional and/or family reasons, are unable to let their child attend all or most group lessons. It is available only for pupils in Suzuki levels 1 to 4 who are having single lessons and if the single-lessons teacher agrees to this option being taken.
  • We do not encourage taking this option, as children will only fully benefit from their Suzuki violin lessons if they attend all or most groups. Please consider, before choosing this option, the possibility of replacing, at the group lessons, the parent who usually attends single lessons with another adult, for example, the other parent; another family member or friend; the nanny; or another parent in the same group.
  • Taking this option reduces the Violin Fee by 25% and gives access to 15 group lessons or group rehearsals per school year instead of the full groups program of 30 lessons and rehearsals. Opportunities to participate in the several events (one solo concert, two evaluations, two group concerts) is the same as for full-groups pupils except that, to participate in a group concert, reduced-group pupils must have attended the last TWO group lessons as well as the rehearsal preceding the concert.
    • Pupils who are based and taught outside the Brussels Region (including through Zoom or similar);
    • Pupils more advanced than Book 4 and who regularly take part in other music group activities (such as orchestra or choir singing);
    • Pupils who are not primarily taught through the Suzuki Method and are aged 7 years or more.

3. Inscription and payment of SMB fees

To effect, and pay for, an inscription, please access the inscription form.

The starting date for lessons is usually at the beginning of one of the three school terms in the Belgian school calendar. It is possible for a pupil to begin group lessons later in the Term but, in that case, payment of the fees for the full term will still be due.
