Sylvain a commencé le piano à l'age de 8 ans. Il s'oriente toutefois vers des études de chimie qu'il termine en 1995. Il part travailler en Angleterre puis en Belgique pour l'entreprise belge UCB Films. Sa rencontre avec Patricia Montero le convainc de se présenter au concours d'entrée du Conservatoire royal de Bruxelles en 2003 qu'il réussit. Il obtient son diplôme de master en 2008 et l'agrégation en 2009 avec distinction. Passioné de pédagogie, il décide de suivre la formation de professeur Suzuki à Bruxelles avec Anne-Marie Oberreit. Parallèlement il suit le master de musicologie à l'ULB.

"Sylvain started studying the piano at 8. After high school, he choose to study chemical engineering and got his diploma in 1995. He went to England and Belgium as an engineer for the Belgian company UCB Films. In Brussels, he met the pianist and piano teacher Patricia Montero who convinced him to take the entrance examination at the Conservatoire royal de Bruxelles where he starts studying the piano in 2003. He got his master degree in 2008 and his agrégation in 2009 with "distinction". Passionate about pedagogy, he started training with Anne-Marie Oberreit to become a Suzuki piano teacher. He is also taking a master degree in musicology at the ULB."
