FLOODING IN TWYNERSH & CHERTSEY LAKES South of the M3 ( Supporting comments are also shown on the River Bourne page )
23rd October 2018 - FLOODING IN THE TWYNERSH LAKES
We are waiting for an update from the the Environment Agency regarding flooding in the Chertsey and Twynersh Fishing Lakes that are just south of the M3 Motorway.
After over 4 years we've just discovered that there are local fisheries experts who know all of the local lakes and watercourses and we're waiting for one of them to contact us for a site visit to the Chertsey and Twynersh Lakes.
25.09.2019 We had 39mm of rainfall yesterday . Visited the Bourne at Trumps Mill . Water was coming downs from the Weir about 50m upstream that we have yet to see. There was also water coming down from the motorway pond.
11/06/2019 Repeat of last year's flooding . A 49cm Weirboard had been fitted in Thorpe Park that was higher than the agreed level which is 13cm. In the video below , the lakes are downstream of the weir . The Thorpe Park lakes are on the right of the video , and can be seen backwards into Thorpe Park.
07/07/2019 Weirboard changed to 16cm . Weir now set at 12.32mAOD.
We are monitoring the Thorpe Park lake levels online and the Chertsey lake levels are also being monitored manually when required
