Lisbon guide

Lisbon (Olissipo) is the city of the 7 hills (like Rome and many others, but we have a story behind them). According to the legend, a half-woman half-medusa fell in love with Ulysses (origin of Olissipo), the sailor. When he told her he would leave Lisbon for another sailing trip, she got really mad and slapped the whole city with her tentacles, thus creating the seven hills.

In the map below you can get an idea of where the seven hills are located. Click in the links below the map to get some tips about them and also about the waterfront of Tagus (Tejo) river.

Notes:

- Lisbon tourism is growing exponentially so there are probably thousands of other good places to visit, hope you enjoy these and find some more to tell me.

- If you want to see a more misty place outside Lisbon, go to Sintra, there you have Quinta da Regaleira (gardens with caves) Castelo de Sintra and Palácio da Pena, they're all so beautiful (I especially recommend the TukTuk tour of TukOnMe, to go around the hills with no parking nightmares or hard climbings).

- If you have no time no worries, Lisbon is always worth a second visit. Also, do let me know in case you are visiting other parts of Portugal as I might have extra tips for that. Check, for example, my fresh Porto guide!
