ScoreBlast

ScoreBlast is your go-to app for quickly sending game results from the ballpark out to Twitter without having to open Twitter or type up all the information.

By setting up your teams before you go (or while you're between innings) you can select the 2 teams from drop lists, enter the score, select who won, and add any additional details from the game and then just send it off to Twitter.  ScoreBlast formats the tweet for you, inserting all the details you selected (instead of typing over and over again).  You can then keep the teams saved in the app or clear all or some of them out for the next tournament!

All you need is a Twitter account and the score of the game!

General:

This app gives the user the ability to quickly tweet scores by providing 2 drop-down lists of teams, previously setup in the app, and score fields.  The user also has the option of adding some additional text to the tweet to provide some highlights of the game.

The app takes the entered/selected data and formats it into a tweet and pushes it to the authorized Twitter account.

The idea behind the app is that when you are at a tournament and want to post results to Twitter you are constantly having to enter the team names and certain parts of the Tweet over and over and over.  This app takes some of the repetitiveness out of this process.  Simplifying the reporting of games.

Getting Started:

When you first install the app the first thing you'll need to do is Authorize the app to send tweets to your Twitter account.

Go to Settings & click the Auth Twitter button.

This will open a browser window where you enter your Twitter credentials (the app doesn't store your credentials, just your Twitter handle).

If you enter them correctly, then Twitter will authorize the app to Tweet on your behalf and you'll return to the app Settings display.

You will now see the button is now labeled 'Deauth Twitter' with a blue text note saying who is authorized.

This will carry back to the main screen as well.

Next you will want to start adding teams to the database.  Enter at least 2 to get started.  NOTE: The app will not send unless you have 2 teams setup AND have authorized it with Twitter.

Once this is complete you are set to start posting game scores, statuses, & results!

Main Screen:

Select Team 1: Use this to open list-picker to display all setup teams.

Score Team 1: Enter Team 1's runs.

Select Team 2: Use this to open list-picker to display all setup teams.

- 'Fin' - This is for a completed game

- 'Cnl' - This is for a game that has been canceled

Inn: Enter the inning for the current game

Char Remain: Number of characters available for a valid Tweet (140 max).  Please note the app formats the tweet and subtracts the text it uses from the 140 total. As fields are filled in, they also are subtracted from the total.  The app also include a short promo blurb at the end of each Tweet.

* Authorized as: Text showing if the app has been authorized to send via Twitter.  This will show the user that was authorized if it is authorized.  If this text isn't present then the app isn't authorized. User needs to go to Settings to authorize with a valid Twitter account.
